Priced by linear metres of hedge, not by the hour. Small residential hedges from $120. Large boundary hedges from $250. All common Sydney species.
We price by linear metre of hedge face, not by the hour. This means you know the cost before we arrive, and there is no incentive for us to work slowly. Height adds to the price for tall hedges that need ladder work or extended-reach equipment.
A standard single-sided residential hedge up to 1.5 m tall and 10 m long: $120-$180. A boundary hedge 10-30 m long: $250-$450. Hedges over 30 m, hedges taller than 2 m requiring ladder work, or double-sided hedges: priced individually, starting at $350.
Lilly Pilly (Acmena and Syzygium), Photinia Red Robin, Murraya paniculata, English and Japanese Box, Viburnum tinus, Pittosporum, Camellia, Port Wine Magnolia (Magnolia figo), Grevillea hedge varieties, and most other common residential species. If you have an unusual species, mention it at booking.
For Lilly Pilly and Photinia, timing matters. Both put on a strong flush of new growth in spring. The cleanest approach is to trim once in late spring after the flush settles, and again in late summer or early autumn. Murraya is fast-growing and may need three trims per year in Sydney's climate.
All clippings collected and bagged. We use your green bin where available. Removal off-site available at cost if no green bin.
Commercial hedge trimmers, hand shears for precision work. Blades sanitised between properties to prevent disease spread.
We shape to your preferred profile. Box-shaped, tapered, cloud-pruned, or natural rounded. Tell us at booking.
A small residential hedge up to 10 linear metres costs $120-$180 to trim. A medium boundary hedge 10-30 m costs $250-$450. Larger or taller hedges are priced from $350. We price by linear metre of hedge face, not by the hour, so you know the cost before we arrive.
Most Sydney hedges need two to three trims per year. Fast-growing species like Lilly Pilly, Photinia, and Murraya may need three or four trims. Slower species like Box and Viburnum typically need one or two per year, ideally timed after the main spring growth flush.
Walk along the hedge face with a tape measure, or use our garden measurement tool to trace the hedge line on a satellite map and get the length automatically. If you are not sure, give us a rough estimate at booking and we will confirm before we start.
Yes. Standard box shape, tapered (narrower at the top), rounded, or natural. Mention your preference at booking. If you have an existing profile you want maintained, a photo helps — you can send one via email after booking.
Yes — both are among the most common hedging species in Sydney and we trim them regularly. For Lilly Pilly and Photinia, we recommend trimming once after the spring growth flush settles (November-December) and again in late summer (February-March). Trimming too early into the flush can leave the hedge looking ragged; waiting until growth hardens gives a cleaner result that lasts longer.
