We price hedge trimming by linear metre of hedge face, not by the hour. A small residential hedge up to 10 m costs $120-$180. A medium boundary hedge 10-30 m is $250-$450. This approach means you know the cost before we arrive and there is no incentive for slow work.

All common Sydney hedging species: Lilly Pilly, Photinia, Murraya, Box, Viburnum, Pittosporum, Camellia, Port Wine Magnolia, and Grevillea varieties. For Lilly Pilly and Photinia, timing matters — we recommend trimming after the spring growth flush settles in November-December, and again in late summer. Murraya is fast-growing and typically needs three trims per year in Sydney's climate.

We do not do climbing work, structural pruning of significant trees, or trimming that requires council approval. If your hedge involves any of these, we will tell you before booking, not after arriving.

Common questions about hedge trimming in Sydney

How much does hedge trimming cost in Sydney?

A small hedge up to 10 linear metres costs $120-$180. A medium boundary hedge 10-30 m is $250-$450. Larger or taller hedges are priced from $350. We price by linear metre, not by the hour.

How often should hedges be trimmed in Sydney?

Most Sydney hedges need two to three trims per year. Lilly Pilly, Photinia, and Murraya are fast-growing and may need three or four trims. Slower species like Box and Viburnum usually need one or two per year, timed after the spring growth flush.

How do I know how long my hedge is?

Walk along the hedge face with a tape measure, or use our garden measurement tool to trace the hedge line on a satellite map and get the length automatically. A rough estimate at booking is fine — we confirm before starting.

Do you trim Lilly Pilly hedges?

Yes. Lilly Pilly is one of the most common hedging species in Sydney and we trim it regularly. For best results, trim once after the spring flush settles (November-December) and again in late summer. Trimming into actively growing new tips can leave the hedge looking uneven.
